The Advisory Commission on the Status of Women and The Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders will hold the Eighth Annual Women’s Conference and Breakfast, Saturday, March 28, at the Wildwood Country Club, 1170 Golf Club Road, Cape May Court House, from 9 a.m. to noon. Door prizes will be awarded. Tickets cost $7.
Presenters will develop the theme “Surviving 2009 . . . Stay Informed” and include: The Economy and Crime, State Police Initiatives to Combat Crime, Major Wendy Galloway, New Jersey State Police; Human Trafficking: A Local Perspective, Helen McCaffrey, J.D.,LLD.
Additional topics to be addressed are: Financial Assistance and Advice, Tenants Right’s during Foreclosure, Carol Haig and Elizabeth Cunningham, South Jersey Legal Services, and Alternatives when Faced with Financial Difficulties, Russell Graves, Director of Consumer Credit and Budget Counsel, Supermarket Savings, Linda Spengler and Mary Maguire, Rutgers Cooperative Extension.
On The Lighter Side, Lenora Boninfante, Cape May County communications director will talk about free programs, resources and family entertainment. Carlyn Graham-Conover of Focus Solutions Counseling will present Lifting Up Your Spirits: Coping Skills and Bill Colley, 92.7 FM WGMD radio host talks about Volunteering in the Community.
