Wildwood’s history displayed at county administration building

By On Deck Staff

A display presenting the Wildwoods, past and present, will be available in the lobby at the Cape May County Administration building during the month of July. The Wildwood Historical Society, responsible for the display, has showcased various places through photographs that are synonymous with the Wildwoods. Featured are photographs of the beach in 1903, the boardwalk on Memorial Day in 1943, the Rainbow Club, Pacific Avenue in 1945, Zaberers’ Restaurant, the Tram Car and Aqua Circus in the 1970s, amusement rides of the 40s, Hunt’s Casino movie theater, and the Caribbean Motel, a unique Doo Wop design of the 50s and still in existence. Pictured here are Mary Ellen Shields, left and Anne Vinci, President who put together this month’s display at the county administration building in the Crest Haven Complex in Cape May Court House.
