Wildwood to Receive $1 Million for Landfill Solar Field?

By Deborah McGuire

WILDWOOD -The city may be receiving a $1 million down payment for the
installation of a solar field in what was once the back bay landfill.
“We’re working on a Memorandum of Understanding with Panasonic,” City
Administrator Chris Wood told the Herald.
According to Wood, the electronics giant and the city have until the end of
the year to iron out the details.
“There would be down payment to the city of up to $1 million,” said Wood.
The city would then receive annual payments from Panasonic.
Part of the deal includes Panasonic carrying the cost of closing and capping
the landfill.
