What’s happening in Ocean City this weekend

On Friday, Feb. 20 enjoy The Keyser Soze Reunion. Ocean City’s legendary rock band returns for a one time only show at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace, 6 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door.
Led by singer-song writer Ed Shiffler, Keyser Soze played leading venues in Los Angeles, New York and throughout South Jersey. The Band produced four albums of original music including Rolanda which became a regional classic selling hundreds of copies.
The Dangerous Ones, Shiffler’s new band and Kickin’ Bear, a popular group of young musicians led by Rob Swift, will also perform.
The Matty D Experience and dancer Christine Morano will be featured. Paintings will be on display and for sale by local artists.
On Saturday, Feb. 21, it’s The Battle of the Bands, a popular event that showcases area talent 6 p.m. at the Music Pier.
Admission is $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Advance tickets are available at the Ocean City Fine Arts League, 608 Asbury Ave. and at Grass Roots, 1059 Asbury Ave. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Ocean City Food Cupboard. Among the bands scheduled to compete are Milk, a Philadelphia rock group; The Pedestrians, a veteran South Jersey Band that plays original music; Andrew Jude, offering soulful melodies and feel good rhythms, One-Two-Three Draw, a quartet of Ocean City High School freshman performing classic rock and Secret Service, an indie group from Ocean City High School and Sea Isle City.
The program is directed for the Ocean City Fine Arts League by Rob Swift, whose band Kickn’ Bear is also on the bill but will not compete.
