STRATHMERE – The tiny town of Strathmere is two blocks wide. The “eye” of Sandy crossed over this small town on a barrier island in Cape May County. Both seasonal owners and year-round residents suffered major losses, some having their homes and all contents damaged beyond repair. In this small town there are three social organizations, a volunteer fire department, and a church. All of these have banded together to form the Strathmere United Relief Fund (S.U.R.F.) to do all it can to help everyone in our town. Every neighbor has tried to help with hot meals, offers of furniture, a place to sleep, or time and a hammer and nails to begin to fix what can be mended. S.U.R.F. is accepting donations through the Strathmere United Methodist Church. Please help the residents of our tiny town, many of whom now have nothing. You can send a donation to SURF, Box 49, Strathmere, NJ 08248. Make checks payable to the Strathmere United Methodist Church but be certain to put in the memo portion “SURF”. These donations are tax-deductible. Thank you for your generosity during these difficult times.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
