Snow Accumulation Expected Until Noon, Major Roads Clear

COURT HOUSE -Snow started to fall at approximately 1:00 a.m., first coating vehicles and trees. By 2:00 a.m. accumulation on roadways was visible. The National Weather Service estimates the total nighttime snow accumulation to be between 1 to 2 inches.
Crews on the Garden State Parkway got an early start to salting the freeway all lanes remained open early Friday, morning with minimal accumulation. Route 9 and Route 47 also had minimal accumulation. Many rural roads did have accumulation that may cause some travel delays.
By late morning, most all major roads were clear or slightly slushy with the snowfall rapidly melting.
The winter weather advisory remains in effect until noon.
The National Weather Service forecast for Friday: Snow likely, mainly before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. Breezy, with a west wind between 15 and 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20. Northwest wind between 16 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.
