A wind advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m. this afternoon.
A cold front will pass through the area monday afternoon.
Preceding it southeast to south winds will increase as the morning
continues with frequent gusts of between 30 and 40 mph.
The highest wind gusts are expected to occur when a narrow line of
showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms forms later this
morning. This should effectively mix down some of the stronger
winds aloft with wind gusts reaching around 50 mph where this
line forms and moves through. Winds should then diminish as the
afternoon continues as the core of stronger winds aloft moves
offshore.
The combination of heavy rain and strong winds should knock down
weak tree limbs and trees in the area and cause scattered outages.
Drivers of high profile vehicles as well as all motorists
traveling on bridges and overpasses should proceed more
cautiously.
