Restoring the Shore in Sea Isle

By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY – Over 50 volunteers from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and even Florida gathered Sat. morning to help ‘restore the shore’ in Sea Isle City, New Jersey. Volunteers arrived at 9 a.m. Nov. 12, 2012 with shovels, rakes, and gardening gloves in hand to clear the almost two feet of sand from the promenade at John F. Kennedy Boulevard and debris from Excursion Park. By 2 p.m., the promenade was almost cleared and back to how it looked pre-Hurricane Sandy.
Katie Barrett, whose family has had a beach house in Sea Isle City for over 15 years, was one of the volunteers this past weekend and stated, “How nice it is to have so many people with connections to Sea Isle come together to help with the clean up efforts.”
Many people on the east coast were affected by Hurricane Sandy but towns like Sea Isle have demonstrated how people come together in times of need and how group efforts can make a huge difference.
