A Letter from the Cape May County Office of Emergency Management

Mayor Martin L. Pagliughi

By

Friends,

I want to thank you for picking up and reading your copy of the “Be Ready Guide,” an important partnership with the Cape May County Herald. This guide provides essential information that will further protect your lives, your loved ones and your property during a natural disaster in Cape May County.

The Cape May County Office of Emergency Management is committed to protecting the public health, safety, and welfare of our residents and visitors. It is always best to have an action plan for your family and property for a major storm event that visits our area, even if it does not result in a mandatory evacuation. This “Be Ready Guide” contains helpful guidance in that effort.

We continually strive to implement the newest technology available to improve preparedness, response and recovery from any natural or manmade disaster. It is important to develop the most accurate information and forecast to help us collectively make the best decisions; it is equally important to have this information and technology to help us recover from a storm event or other disaster that impacts our neighbors.

My best advice to you is to read this guide and develop a plan for your family. Always rely on the guidance offered by your municipal and county emergency management partners, and heed their advice. Together we can ensure the safety of our loved ones, and protect our properties against a catastrophic loss.

Shall you need any further information, please visit the official website of the Cape May County Office of Emergency Management at www.capemaycountynj.gov.

Sincerely,

Martin L. Pagliughi

Director

Cape May County Office of Emergency Management
