Two Men Revived After Reported Electrical Wire Accident

AVALON – At approximately 3:16 p.m. May 30, the Avalon Police Department received a 911 call from the 200 Block of 26th Street, reporting that a male fell from a ladder onto an electrical wire.
According to a release, the Avalon Police Department responded and observed two unconscious males. A citizen was already rendering aid to one of the men. Officers immediately took control of the scene and began CPR. Officers then applied the AED to each patient and administered a shock.
Moments later, officers were able to obtain a pulse on both patients. The Avalon Rescue Squad, Stone Harbor Rescue Squad, and AtlantiCare paramedics arrived on scene and began to render aid, as well. The patients soon regained consciousness.
The Avalon Fire Department extinguished a small fire while on scene. Both patients were airlifted and are being treated, as of June 1.
This incident is currently being investigated by The Avalon Police Department.
