Transformer Failure Darkens Wildwood ‘Walk, Pier Rides; Outage Affected 2,000

WILDWOOD – A power outage occurred in Wildwood July 31 at about 10 p.m. that included a portion of the Boardwalk.
The outage was due to an issue with a transformer, according to Atlantic City Electric (ACE) spokesman Frank Tedesco.
About 2,000 customers were affected. 
Media reports indicated the outage shut down rides on Morey’s Piers. No rescues were reported.
Power was restored around midnight.
