West Cape May Christmas Parade Traffic, Parking Advisory for Dec. 7, 2019

WEST CAPE MAY – Cape May Police Chief Anthony Marino issued the following advisory about the 2019 West Cape May Christmas parade scheduled for Dec. 7 starting at 5 p.m.
According to a release, the West Cape May bridge will open to attending floats and school bands, etc, of which will be directed onto Seashore Road then parked on the side of the road until the start of the parade at their predetermined locations.
Any parade visitors, nonfloat or school bands, will be diverted at the base of the West Cape May Bridge to New England Road, where they will travel to Bayshore Road then towards Sunset Boulevard.
They may access Cape May, West Cape May and Cape May Point this way. Visitors may also utilize the Cape May Bridge (Veterans Memorial Bridge) off Route 109 to access Cape May City.
Carpenter’s Lane will have limited parking and various locations of no parking (specifically in the 300 and 400 blocks) as well as Broadway, West Perry, Ocean St. and Perry Street.
It should be also noted that MAC will be hosting its Candle Light House Tours during this time, parts of Columbia Avenue will be restricted to pedestrians only (5 p.m. to 9 p.m.), motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
The parade will end off Ocean Street, where the participants will be directed towards Beach Avenue.
Beach Avenue between Decatur Street and Gurney Street will be used for school bus and float parking, if visiting park elsewhere.
Accordingly, due to No Parking in those areas, the City of Cape May has offered free parking at the Bank Street lot, at the intersection of Venice and Bank Street in Cape May.
