Route 109 and Ocean Drive to be Closed for Annual Ocean Drive Marathon

VILLAS – The Lower Township Police Department would like to advise motorist that the 18th Annual Ocean Drive Marathon will be held March 20, 2016 at 08:30 a.m.  
Motorist should avoid Route 109 North from Wilson Drive in Lower Township to Ocean Drive and Ocean Drive North from Route 109 to Wildwood Crest between 08:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on that date.                                                                                                                                                                 Motorists Leaving Cape May will be detoured through West Cape May. Ocean Drive northbound will be closed from the Route 109 Bridge to Wildwood Crest.
Anyone wishing to access Ocean Drive southbound during this time frame must detour through Wildwood Crest.  
All businesses will be accessible during this event.  Officers will be in the area to provide assistance and directions.
After The last runner and Trolley has cleared Route 109 North, both lanes on Rt 109 will be open.  After the last runner and Trolley has cleared Ocean Dr and Jefferson Avenue, both lanes of Ocean Drive will be open.
Lower Township Police Officers, Cape May County Sheriffs Officers and Volunteer Fireman with Erma, Townbank and Villas Stations, will be posted throughout the race to strictly enforce the detour and assist motorists.
