Lower Township Police Issue Advisory on Construction Road Closures Oct. 7-11

NORTH CAPE MAY – Lower Township Police Department advises that the following work is scheduled for the week of Oct. 7-11, 2019:
1. Continue installation of 66”x51” CSP stormwater main from #204 Roseann Ave. through the Roseann Ave. – Amhurst Rd. intersection.
2. Continue operation of wellpoint system from 206 to 200 Roseann Ave. (west side of Amhurst Road) along the south sidewalk area. Well point water discharge will be into the new storm main via the 30-inch manhole riser at 212 Roseann.
3. Installation and operation of well point system across the Roseann Avenue– Amhurst Road intersection.
Due to the construction, the 200 block of Roseann Ave. from 218 through Amhurst Road will be substantially closed to through traffic during working hours.
The actual area of full road closure will be approximately 100 feet in length and will move westward as the pipework progresses in that direction. The intersection at Roseann Avenue and Deborah Street will be impacted by the pipework making it impassable to traffic during working hours in the early part of the week.
Thereafter, the intersection at Roseann Avenue and Amhurst Road will be impacted and closed to traffic by the installation of well points and the subsequent pipe work.
Mount will continue to work with the residents to provide access to and from their homes during this time.
Emergency vehicles will be able to access properties from either the east and west sides of the actual closure zone.
During non-working hours, Roseann Avenue within the Phase 3 project limits (i.e. Bayshore Rd. to 218 Roseann Ave.) will be open to one lane for local traffic. However, the intersection at Roseann Avenue and Amhurst Road will require overnight closure during the later part of the week and into the following week of Oct.14.
Be advised that the following areas will be occupied by the storage of construction equipment and materials:
1. South side of Roseann from218 to Deborah Street
2. The north side from Deborah St. to Amhurst Rd.
3. The north side from Amhurst Road to Service Road.
4. The east and west parking lanes of Amhurst Road from Roseann Avenue to Beachhurst Dr.
Mount has indicated it will continue working four 10-hour shifts (7 a.m. till 5:30 p.m.).
Mount will utilize a Friday shift to make up a rain day should the need arise.
