Resort Guest Saves Drowning Child

WILDWOOD CREST – Patrol officers were called to a resort on the 500 block of E. Stockton Road for a reported child drowning Aug. 31 at 2:22 p.m. Upon arriving, officers found the child out of the pool and semi-conscious.

Jonathan O’Brien, a guest at the resort, was in the pool area and observed the child face down in the pool. He immediately pulled the child from the pool and began CPR. O’Brien’s quick actions revived the child. The Wildwood Crest Rescue Squad transported the child to Cape Regional Medical Center. He was later transferred to Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del. At this time, the child is expected to make a full recovery.
