RIO GRANDE – As part of its effort to expand vital services to the marginalized community in Cape May County, The Branches Outreach Center moved into a larger, newly renovated building located at 201 Hirst Avenue, Rio Grande, NJ 08242. The center also hired its first Executive Director, Maria Elena Hallion, PhD.
On Thursday, October 20th from 4:30 to 7:30 pm, The Branches Outreach Center invites the community to join in a grand opening celebration of its new building. The Branches staff and volunteers moved into the building on September 6, 2022.
The building, which took two years to renovate, was given to The Branches Outreach by an anonymous donor. The brand new center includes a new large kitchen for warming and serving food, a common room which can sit 30 persons, a TV, showers, a donation area and staff offices.
“The Branches beginning was modest, we were operating out of one room for many years,” says Sandra Lockhart, Operations Director, The Branches Outreach. “Growing need and community support has inspired this organization to expand its vision.”
Terri Masione, Program Director adds, “Today we celebrate the opening of a new building. As need increases, the Branches Outreach is challenged to live its mission to the fullest.”
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will include an introduction to the first Executive Director for The Branches Outreach, Maria Elena Hallion, PhD. Attendees will also meet board members, staff and volunteers. Refreshments will be served.
“I am delighted to join The Branches Outreach and I look forward to working with this incredibly dedicated group of staff and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to change the lives of countless individuals and families who rely on our services,” says Maria Elena.
