MIDDLE TOWNSHIP – The Avalon Lions Club lent its support for the mission and the ministry of Family Promise of Cape May County this month. The organization of churches and nonprofits provides housing and hope for families facing economic hardships.
The Lions presented a check for $6,000 to the organization at the Bob Baxter Family Promise Golf Outing held at the Shore Club in Middle Township. The late Bob Baxter was an active member of the club and supporter of Family Promise. Family Promise is one of more than a dozen Cape May County charities that receive donations from the Avalon Lions.
