Power Outage Explained

By

OCEAN CITY – About 800 Ocean City residents were without power for 10 minutes July 2 while Atlantic City Electric (ACE) crews worked to remove a malfunctioning piece of equipment.
Service was temporarily interrupted by ACE crews at 8:20 p.m., according to ACE spokesman Frank Tedesco.
“Crews immediately replaced the equipment to alleviate the possibility of a more lengthy service interruption for customers,” stated Tedesco, in an email to the Herald. “Brief interruptions like this are sometimes required to perform necessary work on the local energy grid to maintain safe and reliable service for customers.”
