State Firefighters Endorse LoBiondo for Re-Election

OCEAN CITY– Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R-2nd) today received the endorsement of the New Jersey State Firemen’s Benevolent Association (FMBA) for his re-election to Congress on November 2nd.“Frank LoBiondo has been a sure and steady friend to every firefighter in this district and in our state to help keep our communities and their residents safe,” said Carlos Mercado, who the Co-Chair of the NJFMBA’s Legislative Committee. “We are proud to stand side-by-side with him and to endorse his return to Congress to keep fighting for South Jersey.” “I am so honored and proud to receive this endorsement and especially thankful to our firefighters for the unfailing commitment to our region and nation,” said Rep. LoBiondo. “They are the ones that we count on during the most dangerous of times and I cannot adequately express our region’s shared gratitude to these local heroes. “Rep. LoBiondo has been a staunch supporter of the Second Congressional District’s firefighters and fire departments since his days as a Cumberland County Freeholder and in the New Jersey General Assembly. He is a member of the Congressional Fire Caucus, a bipartisan group that supports fire service legislation that benefits all first responders.Rep. LoBiondo’s Congressional office holds an annual briefing for firefighters in the District on the federal government’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program. Since the program’s inception in 2001, more than $22 million has been awarded locally to some 115 first responder organizations in the Second District.
