Middle Chamber Hosts Candidate Breakfast

By Joe Hart

SWAINTON –– Around 80 people attended the “Meet the Candidates Breakfast” hosted by the Middle Township Chamber of Commerce at Sandbarrens Golf Club Oct. 18.
Chamber members and township residents were able to hear the candidates from municipal, county and state races discuss their views on the issues.
For the most part, candidates held to the chamber’s guidelines of keeping the debate positive and speaking about the future.
“We already know what you’ve done in the past,” Chamber President Bob Noel said. “We want to know what you would do to help the business community and all of Middle Township if elected.”
Noel said he thought the forum was a great success.
“The turnout from our business community was excellent,” he said. “Because we kept the dialogue positive, we were really able to see who the candidates were and what they stood for.”
