Who I am
I have been a resident and member of the Cape May County community for over 20 years. Born in northern New Jersey, my parents relocated my family to Lower Township when I was just three years old.
It was here in Cape May County that I found home.
I was raised and educated in the local school system, attending St. Raymond’s Regional School and Cape May County Technical High School.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in political science from Saint Peter’s University and minored in philosophy. More recently, I graduated from King’s College London in the United Kingdom, where I received my master’s degree in a program that focused on the threats of violent extremism and radicalization facing Western nations.
Directly following my return home from graduate school, I became involved in local politics by attending monthly Democratic club meetings, which led to my being appointed as a committee person for the Democratic Party in Middle Township’s 16th District.
Why I am running
I am running for Freeholder because I believe at all levels of government – local, state and federal – the struggles and concerns of the working class have largely gone unnoticed and ignored.
Moreover, as a 24 year old, I am hoping to both encourage the participation of our county’s youth in the political process, as well as create more employment opportunities for those returning from college so young adults do not feel they have to leave the county to obtain a good job.
As a candidate, I not only look forward to representing the concerns of the working class and low-income families of the county, but also seek to bring fresh ideas and vision, as the status quo has failed too many members of our community.
What’s next
Up until the election, I will be publishing articles in the Herald detailing my vision for change and progress to our otherwise stagnant county, and proving my dedication and willingness to work tirelessly for our residents by providing a voice for their concerns and frustrations. Please follow our campaign Facebook page, @DaviesandWallforFreeholder, and don’t forget to vote.
