Lautenberg: Press Iraqi Commitment

By Herald Staff

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) on March 24 issued the following statement after a roadside bomb killed four soldiers in Iraq on March 23, bringing the American toll in the Iraq war to 4,000 deaths:
“George Bush and John McCain like to say that the ‘surge is working,’ but the reality is that the war is not. With 4,000 Americans killed, it is time for President Bush to finally hold the Iraqi Government to its commitments and start bringing our troops home now.”
