GOP Freeholder Candidates Supported by ‘New Direction’ Leaders

By Herald Staff

Release from New Direction for New Jersey:
VILLAS — “New Direction for NJ” leaders endorse the candidacy of Ocean City Republican Leader John McCann, as he teams with incumbent Freeholder Ralph E. Bakely, Sr. to run for Freeholder this November. John’s commitment to reduced government spending and lower taxes during his 2009 race for the New Jersey Legislature and his many years of experience as a member of the Cape May County business community, together with Freeholder Ralph Bakley’s leadership throughout the law enforcement and senior citizen community, have led New Direction leaders to endorse these candidacies.

Says Matt Buesing, “We are keenly interested in the future of our Party, and we herald the County Freeholder leadership for encouraging the participation of John who believes strongly in less government. Norris, Brendan and I heartily endorse John as he teams with incumbent Freeholder Ralph Bakely to pursue the due process for Party nomination, and run as our County Freeholder candidates this year.”

Notes Norris Clark, “John has distinguished himself as an up-and-coming Republican leader, first as the municipal Republican leader of Ocean City, and then as an outstanding candidate for the New Jersey State Assembly. He is a former President of the Cape May County Association of Realtors and currently serves on the Cape May County Tax Board. John’s two small businesses provide income for 20 families throughout Sea Isle and Ocean City, and he is a tireless activist for community issues.”

Brendan Sciarra adds, “We expect John will team with our respected Freeholder Ralph E. Bakely, Sr. who has greatly distinguished himself over his years of public service on behalf of police officers, education, consumer affairs, and culture. Ralph has served his community with integrity for over 40 years. Both men, care deeply about people, and want to advance efficient government in the service of the public good.”
