Cumberland GOP Backs Sauro, Campbell

By Press Release

BRIDGETON – Cumberland County Regular Republican Organization (CCRRO) members endorsed Cumberland County Freeholder James Sauro and Downe Township Mayor Robert Campbell for state Assembly at a March convention.
Committee members also endorsed candidates for state offices, including Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno for governor and Mary Gruccio for state Senate. Candidates for Cumberland County offices also received support.
According to a release, “Sauro decided not to seek re-election as a freeholder in order to run for state Assembly for the 1st Legislative District. Currently, the district is represented by Assemblymen Robert Andrzejczak and Bruce Land (both D-1st).  District 1 does incorporate most of Cumberland County.  As his running mate, Campbell has been approved as a part of the GOP ballot replacing Brian McDowell, of North Wildwood, who was endorsed by the CCRRO. Cumberland GOP removed their support of McDowell and have placed their support behind Campbell, a longstanding, dedicated Republican.”
