The Joe Palooka Invitational Boxing Show will be held this Saturday, Aug. 16 in the Bandstand at Fox Park across from the Convention Center in Wildwood, with the first bout slated for 7:30 p.m.
Sponsored by the Wildwood Boxing Club and sanctioned by Boxing USA, the Joe Palooka Invitational will feature 12 bouts and include amateur pugilists from the Wildwood Boxing Club, Bethlehem, Pa. Boxing Club, Vineland PAL, Atlantic City PAL, Pleasantville PAL, the All-Star Boxing Club in Pennsauken, and Middletown Boxing Club.
Wildwood fighters will be Anthony Hindsley, Danny Torres, Andolini Richards, Ryan Toler, Billy McConnell, and Jahlyn Harris.
The main event will feature Wildwood’s Josh Mercado, 2008 Intercollegiate 139-pound champion, in a rematch with Bethlehem’s Ron Cruz, who defeated Mercado in a controversial decision earlier this year.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and kids under 10 will be admitted free with a parent.
