BEESLEY’S POINT – Orsted, the Danish company tasked with building Ocean Wind, an offshore wind farm at the Jersey Shore, was approved to use the B.L. England Generating Station’s power grid.
According to published reports, the company is instead looking to connect to the Higbee/Ontario substation, in Atlantic City, as a way to deliver generated power from the farm. The company has also selected the dormant Oyster Creek Nuclear Plant, in Lacey Township, Ocean County, as one of its substations.
The company should make final decisions about their onshore connection by the end of the year.
