Meet Rudolph at Women’s Civic Club of Stone Harbor

By On Deck Staff

Bring your camera and take your child’s picture with Rudolph and friends in the Women’s Civic Club of Stone Har-bor at 96th St. and the beach, Nov. 29 from 8 a.m. – noon.
Come and enjoy a continental break-fast while waiting for the runners in the 5K Run and the walkers in the one mile Pooch Walk.
The cost of admission is a new un-wrapped toy or a donation to the Marine Corps Reserve “Toys for Tots” holiday toy drive.
Toys for Tots originated in 1947, when Diane Hendricks, the wife of USMCR Major Bill Hendricks gave a doll she made herself to her husband, ask-ing him to deliver the doll to an organi-zation, which would give it to a needy child at Christmas (toysfortots.org).
A Marine Corps representative will be on hand to answer your questions about this very worthy charity. A toy collection box will be available at the club throughout the weekend.
