Magic show raises funds for hungry children

By On Deck Staff

The internationally known, award winning Belmont Magic Show returns to Ocean City with an exciting new show and a very special goal.
This year’s show benefits Feed The Children, a humanitarian charity that delivers millions of pounds of food and emergency supplies to hungry children here at home, and around the world.
In 2007, Feed The Children distributed more than 135 million pounds of food and other vital necessities to hundreds of thousands of families devastated by natural disasters and poverty in all 50 states and throughout the world.
Founder Larry Jones says, “As long as there are children in this world going hungry, we must be there. That’s why stars like The Oak Ridge Boys, sports figures like Billy Hunter, Executive Director of the NBA and the Academy of Magical Arts have endorsed FTC.”
Established in 1980, Feed The Children is dedicated to providing food, medicine, clothing, and other necessities to children and families who lack the basics they need to survive due to famine, war, poverty, or natural disaster.
That’s the reason why the Belmont Magic Show will donate 20 percent of all ticket sales from their Ocean City performance to this incredible charity.
Master Magician Al Belmont says, “Imagine a world without empty bowls. Now, that’s Magic! This year, we want to give all of our fans an opportunity to join with us in creating ‘A Special Kind of Magic.’ What could be a more worthwhile goal for a show dedicated to family entertainment than to be just a small part of helping a child not to have to go to bed hungry.”
Belmont will return to the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace, for one performance only, on Wed. June 25 at 7:30 p.m. with a fast paced, 90-minute show on a par with the best TV Magic Specials.
He’ll bring lots of new Magic like Holographacadabra, the Floating Lady, and The Incredible Time Travel Machine.
In addition, there will be several more intimate effects including Phenomenal Mind Reading, Things that Go Bump in the Night, Baffling Bottles and Symphony of Rings that will add a whole new dimension to this great family show.
The show will also include some of Belmont’s classic pieces that audiences look forward to seeing like that Dare Devil Pup, “Robbie the Rocket.”
Belmont offers great family entertainment and “true theatrical magic” melding illusions, music, dance, live animals, audience participation, and a warm rapport with the audience to create wonder, a smile, and something to tell your friends about!
Tickets are just $10 for children and seniors and $15 for adults, available at the Music Pier Box Office, 609-525-9248 or at the door.
This great family show sold out last year so advance purchase is highly recommended.
His appearance is part of the City’s annual July Jubilee Celebration that features unusual contests and treasure hunts leading up to a gala 4th of July celebration.
