Here is what is happening in our community this week:
Today at 2 p.m. the Lower Cape Branch of the library is going wild.
Join them for a musical concert with Jay Mankita. Jay plays guitar, sings participatory songs, and tells interactive stories.
This concert will be quite the adventure. His stories take place inside a library book.
While you are inside you will journey half way around the world to discover yourself right here at home.
The concert sends a positive, ethical message about how we can help make the world a better place.

Take a ride on the Cape May Lewis Ferry tonight to meet Lighthouse Pete.
This family fun cruise will leave port at 6 p.m.
Join Pete for music and clowns aboard the ferry.
This cruise will run every Wednesday night until Aug. 31.
The cost is $17 for round trip passengers; children ages six to 13 are $8.50; and it is free for children under six.

This Friday you can join the CARA “Full Steam Ahead” summer program at the Lower Cape branch of the library.
It details ways to improve the self-esteem of the children thought the County.
The primary focus will be nurturing a child’s self-esteem through creativity.
This program will run every Friday in August. The program begins at 9 a.m. for children ages three to six, and 10:30 a.m. for children ages seven to 12.

Join the penny party this Friday at St. Barnabas by the Bay; 13 W. Bates Ave. in Villas.
The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the party begins at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is $1 and light refreshments are included. Proceeds benefit the church.

This Saturday and Sunday you can enjoy watching the village artisans create crafts from the age of the homespun at Historic Cold Spring Village.
They will demonstrate and share their skills with you. You can participate in the trades and crafts.
Their will be children’s crafts and activities on both days.

If you missed the last historic tour of the Cold Spring Presbyterian Church and cemetery, you can join them this Saturday.
The tour begins at 10 a.m. The church building is the third structure at their location and was built in 1823.

There is still space available for the Center for Community Arts Yap summer program at the Millman Center.
The theme for the week of Aug. 7 is Beaches, Bones, and Boats.
This week will include a trip to Higbees beach to draw using pastels, pens, pencils and watercolors.
A $5 refundable per week participation fee will hold your child’s spot in this program.
The camp is open to children ages 10 to 14. Space is limited so call today to register.

The Lower Township Chamber of Commerce’s August luncheon will be held on Aug. 10 at Harpoon Henry’s in North Cape May.
The luncheon will begin at 12:30 p.m. and will include guest speaker Captain Brian Marker and the Lower Township Police department.

Next week will begin the first week of Family Movie Night.
This is a free outdoor event held at Muligan field.
The movie for Wednesday Aug. 9 is “The Curse of the Ware Rabbit.”
The movie begins at 8 p.m. and there will be a live band beginning at 7 p.m.
Bring your family and friends along with beach chairs and blankets to sit on.
Refreshments will be available for purchase. Rain or high wind date is Thursday, Aug. 10.
