Kids get “Hooked on Hockey” in Sea Isle

By On Deck Staff

On Thursday, July 24, at 5 p.m., the Philadelphia Flyers and Phantoms will once again bring their Hooked on Hockey program to Sea Isle City. This free event will take place at the Tom Libro Hockey Rink, Dealy Field, 59th and Central Avenue.
Hooked on Hockey, which is open to boys and girls ages 6-12, was developed by the Philadel-phia Flyers to create hockey awareness among children and to teach kids how they can benefit from, and enjoy the sport of hockey.
Once again this year, Flyers legend Bob “The Hound” Kelly, the club’s Ambassador of Hockey, is expected to host the event.
During Hooked on Hockey, participating children will learn about basic hockey fundamentals and scrimmaging. Also, they will enjoy interactive games, receive activity books, and will enjoy other various activities during the program.
Additionally, the Flyers will contribute Mylec hockey sticks to all participating children, in the hopes to keep them “hooked on hockey.”
Hooked on Hockey is presented in cooperation with the Sea Isle City Department of Community Services. For additional information, phone 609-263-0050 or 609-263-6163.
