RIO GRANDE – When you choose to scan your Herald print copies, subscribe online or donate, you are joining with us to deliver strong local journalism for Cape May County.
As it has for over 50 years, advertising supports most of our print newspaper circulation, but local advertising spending has declined – especially in recent years. This means less income to support the significant cost of news coverage, production, printing and delivering papers each week. Meanwhile, demand for the Herald remains very strong.
To meet this challenge, the Herald is augmenting our free print distribution program with paid circulation together with other forms of reader support.
Get your Herald at your Wawa
In consultation with Wawa, the Herald has transitioned to paid distribution on newsstands inside all local Wawa stores. In keeping with Wawa’s reputation for reliable and affordable convenience, the Herald will supplement weekly deliveries to sustain availability at Wawa stores throughout the week. When ya gotta hava Herald, it’s just $1 at Wawa.
Get your Herald at your Acme
At the option of local Acme store management, Herald copies may be found on free publication racks or paid newsstands. In either case, Herald copies are available to Acme shoppers at no cost. However, readers are urged to make donations by scanning the Herald bar code at checkout. Higher donations can be made by simply repeat scanning.
Get your Herald online anytime
Many print edition readers are now reading it online at www.CapeMayCountyHerald.com/eEdition, where it is available each Tuesday afternoon, before the print edition has even hit the press. A digital subscription is required to access eEditions. Digital subscriptions are another form of reader support.
Donations can also be made online at https://bit.ly/Contribute2Herald. We know many of you pick up copies for friends and neighbors, which is great. Encourage those on your “Herald route” to become regular Herald donors.
Your Herald purchases, donations and subscriptions allow us to deliver more and better service to more people, throughout Cape May County and beyond.
If you love what we do at the Herald, we encourage you to make regular purchases and donations, buy a digital subscription and support all the great, local businesses that advertise each week in our pages and online.
Thank you, loyal Herald readers – we are counting on your support! We welcome your questions and feedback at http://bit.ly/HeraldFeedback; or, of course, there’s always Spout Off.
