The Puerto Rican Action Committee (PRAC) will be hosting the 15th annual Hispanic Heritage Family Festival on Saturday Sept. 13, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on the downtown northern bike trail in Woodbine, the intersection of routes 557 and Washington Avenue.
Featured will be live music by nationally known recording artist Joe Rivera and his seven-piece band.
Rain or shine attendees will enjoy a full day of traditional Hispanic dance performances, demonstrations and, for a fee, a variety of Hispanic-American food and beverages.
The 2008 Hispanic Heritage Family Festival will also host a free Latino Arts craft workshop that will offer both adults and children information about recycling and sustainability. Participants will paint, stamp and sew on recycled paper and embellish re-useable shopping bags. It will be a fun and crafty way to learn how everyone can help keep our environment clean.
Community vendors will also be on hand presenting free health information, screenings, animal welfare advocacy resources, and community wellness services. Numerous craft vendors will offer an assortment of handmade goods, baked goods and clothing for purchase.
Free parking can be found all around the festival site.
