Hall of Famer to appear in Ocean City

Bernie Parent, Philadelphia Flyers Hall of Fame goalie, will sign autographs at the Bayside Center, 520 Bay Ave., from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, prior to the Night In Venice Boat Parade. The Flyers will also distribute give-aways to visitors.
Parent will be grand marshal of the Parade that starts 7:30 p.m. by the Longport Bridge at the North end of the Island.
The Bayside Center will hold its annual Night In Venice program starting 5 p.m., which includes prime bayside viewing of the Parade, the appearance by Parent, music by the Good Tymes Band and activities for children.
A concession stand will be open from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. to benefit the Special Olympics.
Parade viewers may bring lawn chairs and picnic baskets. Grandstands will be set up by the bay providing an excellent view of the boats.
Youngster will be able to paint their favorite fish or dinosaur at the Camp Headquarters in the Bayside garage. There will be a Turtle Time when visitors may meet and learn about the Bayside’s turtles and then compete in a Turtle Race.
Face Painting will be available for a donation to the Ocean City High School Art Club.
Admission to the Night In Venice Bayside program including the Parent signing is $7 for adults and $3 for children. Tickets are available at City Hall Annex, 901 Asbury Ave. Call 609-525-9300. Annex hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
