Gull’s Death May Bring Fine

State Wildlife Agents Investigate Death Of Gull Allegedly Killed by Protective Dad

By Camille Sailer

OCEAN CITY – The Herald earlier reported that on July 24 on an Ocean City beach an individual allegedly broke the neck of a seagull and threw it into the trash. He argued with observers that it had “attacked” his daughter.
Recently Robert Considine, press director of the N.J. Department of Environmental Protection provided an update on what happened to the individual who allegedly killed the seagull.
The Division of Fish and Wildlife, Bureau of Law Enforcement began an investigation July 29. In the ensuing time, NJDEP issued a summons to Dennis Reagle, 37, of Tarenttum, Pa. for possessing exotic or non-game wildlife without a permit.
In this case, “possession” had to do with Reagle’s disposal of the bird. A fine will be determined by municipal court. No mandatory court appearance is necessary for the violation.
