SEA ISLE CITY – Mayor Leonard Desiderio briefed Sea Isle City Council Jan. 10 about the value of students’ input through ongoing meetings about how to better incorporate young people’s ideas into the island’s recreation offerings for youth.
Director of Recreation Katherine Custer, in a later conversation after the meeting, explained how “the group of about eight students from middle and high school level have really come up with some interesting ideas, including events at Dealy Field, to better occupy young people, especially during the summer. So, instead of having not much to do, the mayor is leading an effort to ensure our young people are engaged in positive activities.”
