WOODBINE – Mayor William Pikolycky is pleased to announce the Borough of Woodbine will again be a participating worksite in the Summer Youth program of the sponsored by the Atlantic Cape May Office of Workforce Development, Training and New Jersey Youth Corps.
Youth that participate in the program will be between the ages of 16 and 21. Only those youths who meet “economically disadvantaged” criteria established by the United States Department of Labor (USDOL) will be able to participate. Generally, all youth work in an “aide” or “assistant” capacity under the direction of a worksite supervisor. Youth will earn a wage of eight dollars an hour for participation; they will work up to 25 hours per week. The program is from May 1 to September 30, 2013.
Enrollment is based upon eligibility and completion of paperwork. All youth deemed eligible will be required to complete an Academic Assessment and participate in Work Readiness Classes. Youth assessed as Basic Skills Deficient must attend (paid) Academic Tutorial Classes.

“I encourage age-eligible young people to apply for this program,” added Mayor Pikolycky. “It will be a good opportunity to develop employment skills while earning summer money.”
