WOODBINE – The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) has issued a check in the amount of $145,868.23 to continue the on-going groundwater investigation including further ground water delineation and monitoring at the former Foundations and Structures Landfill located on Fidler Hill Road.  The grant also provides funding to prepare a groundwater Classification Exception Area and Remedial Action Permit for Groundwater as required by NJDEP.  The grant will also address some of the required Pinelands Commission oversight of the project.  Previously, NJDEP and NJEDA awarded the Borough of Woodbine over $428,000 for environmental studies at the landfill.  Taylor Wiseman & Taylor of Mount Laurel, NJ will continue to lead the investigative work at the former landfill for the Borough.
“I want to thank the NJDEP and NJEDA as this approved grant funding will allow us to work towards making the property available for re-development,” added Mayor Pikolycky. “We also look forward to working with the Pinelands Commission on this project.”
