WILDWOOD CREST – Parking meters in the Borough of Wildwood Crest will be in operation for the 2014 summer season from May 15 through Sept. 12. The hours and periods of operation for parking meters throughout the borough will be 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
Wildwood Crest has revamped its parking meter ordinance to include a reduced rate zone for the 2014 summer season. The measure was adopted by ordinance by the Wildwood Crest Board of Commissioners.
The reduced rate zone includes all parking meters located along both the east and west sides of Atlantic Avenue throughout the borough, from Cresse to Jefferson avenues. Parking fees in this reduced rate zone will cost $1 per hour, or 15 minutes for each quarter deposited.
Regular rate zone parking meters, which include all meters located east of Atlantic Avenue, will cost $1.50 per hour, or 10 minutes for each quarter deposited.
The reduced rate zone was established in order to encourage more parking along Atlantic Avenue and to alleviate parking congestion along the side streets immediately west of Atlantic Avenue, according to Mayor Carl Groon, the borough’s Commissioner of Public Safety.
Seasonal parking permits for residents and visitors are available for purchase. Parking permits for the 2014 season are $250 for the regular rate zone and $125 for the reduced rate zone. Regular rate parking permits can be used at any metered space in the borough. Parking permits can be purchased at Wildwood Crest Borough Hall, located at 6101 Pacific Avenue.
