WILDWOOD – Repairs on the Boardwalk are slated to continue this fall, The Press of Atlantic City reported.
Bids on a contract to conduct the repairs from Maple Avenue to 26th Avenue will be awarded at the end of the month.
Mayor Pete Byron told The Press he anticipates the total cost of these repairs to come in just under $8 million. Much of that money will come from state and federal grant money, with New Jersey pitching in $4 million and the United States Economic Development Administration contributing $3.2 million. The city will contribute $845,000, The Press reported.
The stretch from Oak Avenue to Maple Avenue was completed during the past off-season. The multi-year repair project includes railing replacements and substructure repairs.
Future off-seasons will require additional repairs as the city overhauls the entire length of the Boardwalk.
