Van Drew Drafting Legislation to Prohibit IDs for Illegal Immigrants

U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-2nd)

By Herald Staff

WASHINGTON – Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-2) announced legislation to prohibit a national ID system for illegal immigrants July 26.
“The Biden administration has used taxpayer funds to provide illegal immigrants with housing, food, and travel; and now, this administration is considering a program to provide illegal immigrants with I.D. cards,” Rep. Van Drew stated in a release.
Van Drew is drafting legislation to stop the Biden administration from enacting such a program. He cited inflation as a reason for his effort.
“This administration continues to make it worse by worrying about providing more rights to illegal immigrants instead of coming up with solutions to help our people. The United States cannot afford this. The American people cannot afford this,” he concluded.
