PETERSBURG – At its Dec. 9 meeting, Upper Township Committee voted unanimously, on second reading, to approve an ordinance authorizing the transfer of municipal-owned land to Habitat for Humanity, which would construct two “stick-built,” i.e., not prefabricated, houses there at a cost level defined as “affordable.”
The parcel, located at East Pacific Avenue, had been the subject of multiple residents’ questions during committee meetings about the propriety, quality and appearance of affordable housing in the residential neighborhood, and protection of wildlife and wooded areas during construction.
There were no additional comments from the public.
