PETERSBURG – Upper Township Municipal Clerk Barbara Young informed Upper Township Committee, at its June 8 virtual meeting, that the municipality’s in-person polling places for the July 7 primary election were identified.
The primary was originally scheduled for June 2, but the governor’s executive order mandated the postponement, like many other states throughout the nation.
“We are strictly following all orders issued by the governor regarding elections. We will not be mailing out sample ballots this year, as we have in the past; voters will get a postcard in the mail, which will indicate where to go on the township’s website to view a sample ballot,” said Young.
“The two in-person polling places where people can come to vote are the Second Cape May Baptist Church, on Route 9, in Marmora, and the Community Center, on Route 50. We strongly encourage all voters to mail in their ballots, and these must be postmarked no later than July 7. Any in-person voting will strictly follow CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), state, county, and Upper Township guidelines for COVID precautions,” he continued.
