UPDATE: Ocean City Police ID Body as Missing Swimmer

OCEAN CITY — On Aug. 4, an autopsy was performed on the recovered body that was discovered on Aug. 3 near the Route 52 Bridge in Ocean City.
The examination has determined that the body recovered was that of Josias Sterling, the missing swimmer from Ocean City reported on July 24, 2009.
The death has been ruled accidental due to drowning. The examination was conducted by the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
On Aug. 3, police received a call from a boater about a body floating in Rainbow Channel near the Route 52 Bridge. The body was floating north to south with the incoming tide. The New Jersey State Marine Police Unit along with Ocean City Police were able to make recovery of the body from the waterway.
