COURT HOUSE – Middle Township reached an affordable housing settlement agreement with the Fair Share Housing Center in 2022. The Township Committee has adopted ordinance changes and amendments in accordance with that agreement.
The committee took one more step Sept. 6 when it appointed Triad Associates of Vineland as the township’s administrative agent for affordable housing. The company serves in a similar role for a number of New Jersey municipalities and is experienced in affordable housing compliance issues.
The role of the administrative agent, according to New Jersey regulations, includes ensuring affirmative marketing of available affordable housing units and conducting outreach to and review of interested households.
The agent gathers the documentation to determine if an interested household meets income and asset eligibility levels and maintains referral lists of eligible households. The agent also ensures that the township meets its annual reporting requirements.
In a separate resolution, the committee appointed Deputy Business Administrator Suzanne Schumann as the municipal housing liaison.
Both appointments are to remain in effect until the township’s reorganization meeting in 2023.
