Trash Termed ‘Disgrace’

By Camille Sailer

PETERSBURG – A “disgrace” was how Upper Township’s Mayor Richard Palombo termed the amount of trash which was left behind over Memorial Day Weekend May 27 at Corson’s Inlet State Park.
“We expect those who use our beautiful beaches and waterways to respect them and carry out the trash they have,” said Palombo. “This weekend, however, we found mountains of trash, including in and around the parking lot, necessitating several large containers to haul away.
“And while Corson’s Inlet is a state-maintained park, we decided that we could not wait for the state to act and disposed of it using township resources,” he continued.
