CAPE MAY — The third in a series of four town meetings with Temple University School of Environmental Design regarding the upgrading parks and a city pedestrian trail will be held March 4 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Cape May Elementary School.
Temple University students will present the final conceptual plans for Rotary and Harborview parks and for the pedestrian trail based on comments from residents at the first two town meetings, according to Mayor Edward J. Mahaney Jr.
Six conceptual renderings were offered for Harborview Park, four renderings for Rotary Park and three for the trail. The Sewell Point Tract is on hold as the city continues to negotiate with its owners.
Mahaney said students would offer an initial idea for open space on Lafayette Street between St. John’s Street and Cape May Elementary School for active and passive recreation and educational purposes. Some of the land extends to wetlands along Cape Island Creek.
