PETERSBURG – Paul Dietrich, municipal engineer of Upper Township, briefed Committee about establishing beach cross-overs from several of Strathmere’s roads, including at Vincent, Randolph, and Tecumseh. “We’re working on the playground as well as finishing up sub-grade, gravel, and compacting work, and also fencing. We need to be off the beach per New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection regulations by March 15 for bird nesting season, especially the plover.” In response to a question from Committee member Hobart Young, Dietrich affirmed that everything would be up and running for the summer. Township Business Administrator Scott Morgan added that he was working on phasing in stairs and other safety features for beach users.
