PETESRSBURG – At the Upper Township Committee meeting April 29, Linda Bateman, president of the Strathmere Improvement Association, asked for an update on several outstanding issues.
“Yes, the pipe issue at the playground has been fixed and we are working on the playground itself, so it should be good to go in two weeks,” explained Mayor Richard Palombo. “We also are installing Mobi-Mats at every protected beach, i.e., every beach where there is a lifeguard stand.
“Speaking of lifeguards, we will have lifeguards for the entire Memorial Day Weekend at certain locations and we are waiting for confirmation from our other guards as to availability from early June onward. By the end of June we expect to be fully staffed with our complete numbers and lifeguard team,” Palombo continued.
