By Press Release

STONE HARBOR — The Borough of Stone Harbor announced its new Director of Tourism Joann DelVescio.
She brings more than 20 years of experience “in leading innovative tourism initiatives,” according to a release.
Under her leadership, the borough will continue to generate awareness of the borough “as a premier family-friendly beach and bay destination,” it stated.
“I look forward to taking Stone Harbor’s compelling story about our magnificent beaches, charming downtown locale, unspoiled landscapes, natural adventures and friendliness of our people to key tourism markets,” DelVescio stated. “We plan to fully embrace new and traditional media, while working with the local industry to ensure that we deliver on the promise of ‘The Seashore at its Best.’”
Stone Harbor Mayor Suzanne Walters affirmed the importance of the appointment. “We recognize the need for fresh ideas and new approaches and strategies to sustain and accelerate the growth of Stone Harbor’s tourism industry.”
DelVescio brings a “wealth of experience in tourism to Stone Harbor,” the release stated. As executive director for the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce, she served as spokesperson for the organization and was the representative to statewide tourism and economic development organizations.
She is president of the N.J. Travel Industry Association and is a board member of the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce; the Cape May County Tourism and Economic Development Committee and Jersey Shore Partnership, among many others.
DelVescio resides in Ocean View, with her family.
