STONE HARBOR – During the May 5 meeting, which was nearly postponed when hackers interrupted it, the Stone Harbor Borough Council adopted two bond ordinances, totaling $14.6 million.
The general-purpose bond ordinance, for $10.3 million, includes funding to improve storm water drainage facilities, new heavy equipment for the Public Works Department, road work in various borough locations, and $4.1 million for a new Beach Patrol building and public restroom facilities, at 95th Street and the beach, along with street work, parking, signage and other external improvements incidental to the new structures.
Previously, Council members expressed their intent to reduce the new structure’s cost as the project is planned.
The second bond ordinance, for $4.4 million, is directed at various water and sewer system improvements, including infrastructure repairs and water meter upgrades.
